Gods As Neighbors. Munich, August 2024

During my usual walk through the nearby Nymphenburg Palace Park, I keep catching sight of Dabuvius, the Roman personification of the Danube.
°
He lies casually stretched out with his idealized, divine body and stares into nothingness, lost in thought.
°
In the background you can see Aiolos, the benevolent ruler of the winds. He is depicted as a winged figure.
°
We are at the Great Cascade at the end of the canal and from here we have a wonderful view of the garden facade of the castle.
°
Every day a different light and a different sight.
°
It is wonderful to walk in this beautiful park. When the wooden gate closes, through which I enter the park through a side entrance, it is as if I leave the world outside as soon as the door has closed.
°
In addition to the baroque garden, the part designed as an English garden is a refuge for nature.
There are wild animals and rare plants there. The park is not only a monument, but also a landscape protection area.
°
Today the park and the palace are under the control of the Bavarian Palace Administration.
