A feast for the senses. Munich, September 2024
°
The water falls from the Great Cascade in the Nymphenburg Palace Park, Munich, with a loud noise into the lower water basin.
A curtain of sound that my thoughts pass by.
Danuvius – as the Roman personification and allegory of the Danube – lies relaxed, stretched out and appears to be doing exactly the same thing.
°
In the background you can see the sculpture of Hercules with the Lion of Nemea.
°
Giuseppe Volpini created both sculptures in 1717 for the Munich court, where he had mainly worked since 1711.
°
Gods and mythical creatures accompany you on your way through the park.
Sculptures and buildings tell stories or simply enchant with their beauty.
The path leads over various watercourses, through wooded clearings with surprising views and views.
A feast for the senses.
°
It’s still summer and this season is wonderful, especially to enjoy my favorite season in this green paradise garden.
